New Neighbors...well kind of

A few weeks ago, Nathan and I found a bird's nest on our porch. We talked about what we should do with it. Should we move it and risk the chance of the momma bird not being able to find her nest... or should we leave it and get to enjoy white droppings by our front door? Well, it wasn't that hard of a decision...we left it. I was walking outside of the house Monday morning for work and looked up to find a sweet surprise. The eggs had hatched and their were baby birds in the nest. Oh how neat!!! They kept opening their mouths like they were trying to make noise, but nothing was coming out. I know that they won't stay long, but it has been a joy watching the process. God's creations = AMAZING!!

Parade of Homes 2009

For the past 3 years, Nathan and I have gone to the Lubbock Parade of Homes. We love looking at homes!! We sometimes just drive around Snyder looking at houses...we're so cool, huh?!?! The thing we love about the Parade of Homes is that we get to see homes that are way out of our league and then we see homes that we may could live in. The thing about the BIG, EXTRAVAGANT homes is that you can get ideas and dream about what you would love to have someday. So anyway, this weekend was the last weekend of the Parade. We had made plans with our friends Phil and Shayna to head to Lubbock on Saturday as soon as Nathan got off of work. So 12:15 rolled around and we were headed to Lubbock. As we came into Lubbock we decided which houses we were going to start at and headed over there. As we came down the street we noticed some houses that looked to be blocked off, but there were no people. We looked back at the ad and it said the parade starts at 1:00. It is 1:30. Where are the people? SO we drove around the block just to make sure we were at the right place. While doing this, Shayna googled the Lubbock Parade of Homes website to find: Parade of Homes has been CANCELLED due to inclement weather!! NO!!!! What are we going to do now?!?!?! So, we did what anyone would have done...we went to see TWO (yeah, that's right...not ONE, but TWO) movies, went to the mall and went to eat at Abuelos!! So what could have been a sad day, turned into a FUN day!!

On our way home, we were still kind of bummed that we didn't get to see the Parade of Homes, so...we went back on Sunday. I LOVE being spontaneous!!! (Which I know will change in 9 months or so ;) and be totally worth it!!) We grabbed some pizza, met up with Phil and Shayna, and headed back to the LBK. We saw so many BEAUTIFUL homes and got some great ideas. After the tour, we went to Johnny Carino's (yum, yum) and headed home. So Saturday and Sunday turned out to be two busy, but wonderful days.
One of the many gorgeous homes!
This is one of the great ideas that I wrote down. A power strip inside a drawer. Why didn't I think of that?!?!

Shayna, Nathan, and Phil. Sweet friends = sweet memories.

When all was said and done...it was a great 2009 Parade of Homes.

Father's Fri"day"

Can I just say that I have the best father-in-law in the world (and mother-in-law)!! We celebrated Father's Day with Nathan's dad, Carl on Friday. Nathan's dad has been such a blessing to me!! He is a wonderful father who cares about his children and wants the very best for them. He is an AWESOME grandad and would do anything for them (even wear Mickey Mouse ears i.e. the picture). I can't wait for him to love on my kids too! Aside from being a great father and grandad, I have also watched him as a husband. Carl and Debbie love each other and always put the other first. I definitely take notes while being around them. He is a wonderful Christian example to me and Nathan and strives to know HIM more and more. Carl LOVES the Lord with his whole heart and I look up to him. I have enjoyed being a part of the Smith family and look forward to many more years with them!

3 Year Anniversary

Nathan and I have been married 3 years today!! It's so funny because it feels like so much longer. :) Those 7 1/2 years that we dated before we got married should DEFINITELY count for something, don't you think?!?! haha!! We've dated almost 1/2 of our lives. But really, these have been the best 3 years!! It's so corny to say, but so true...I really think it gets better and better! I love him more today than I did yesterday!! And to think that we are going to start a family together, couldn't make me more EXCITED!! I have truly married my best friend and I have to be the luckiest woman alive!! To many more years to come...

I love you Nathan!!

This Has Been a Happy Day

Well, we are going to try this blogging thing. I follow other people's blogs constantly and love getting to keep up with what is going on in their everyday lives. I want our family and friends to be able to follow along with what is happening in our life.

Nathan and I got to see a sweet, sweet miracle of God today in the form of a baby. We are EXPECTING!!!! We were able to see our little peanut and his/her heartbeat. WOW!!!! We know that this could not have happened without the hands of God and we are just so excited that he has chosen us to raise one of his children. I hope that Nathan and I make him proud!!

I don't know how well I am going to do at this blogging...but I'm sure going to try. So jump on for this wild ride and enjoy...

OH HAPPY DAY!!
