Parade of Homes 2009

For the past 3 years, Nathan and I have gone to the Lubbock Parade of Homes. We love looking at homes!! We sometimes just drive around Snyder looking at houses...we're so cool, huh?!?! The thing we love about the Parade of Homes is that we get to see homes that are way out of our league and then we see homes that we may could live in. The thing about the BIG, EXTRAVAGANT homes is that you can get ideas and dream about what you would love to have someday. So anyway, this weekend was the last weekend of the Parade. We had made plans with our friends Phil and Shayna to head to Lubbock on Saturday as soon as Nathan got off of work. So 12:15 rolled around and we were headed to Lubbock. As we came into Lubbock we decided which houses we were going to start at and headed over there. As we came down the street we noticed some houses that looked to be blocked off, but there were no people. We looked back at the ad and it said the parade starts at 1:00. It is 1:30. Where are the people? SO we drove around the block just to make sure we were at the right place. While doing this, Shayna googled the Lubbock Parade of Homes website to find: Parade of Homes has been CANCELLED due to inclement weather!! NO!!!! What are we going to do now?!?!?! So, we did what anyone would have done...we went to see TWO (yeah, that's right...not ONE, but TWO) movies, went to the mall and went to eat at Abuelos!! So what could have been a sad day, turned into a FUN day!!

On our way home, we were still kind of bummed that we didn't get to see the Parade of Homes, so...we went back on Sunday. I LOVE being spontaneous!!! (Which I know will change in 9 months or so ;) and be totally worth it!!) We grabbed some pizza, met up with Phil and Shayna, and headed back to the LBK. We saw so many BEAUTIFUL homes and got some great ideas. After the tour, we went to Johnny Carino's (yum, yum) and headed home. So Saturday and Sunday turned out to be two busy, but wonderful days.
One of the many gorgeous homes!
This is one of the great ideas that I wrote down. A power strip inside a drawer. Why didn't I think of that?!?!

Shayna, Nathan, and Phil. Sweet friends = sweet memories.

When all was said and done...it was a great 2009 Parade of Homes.
